The eight university libraries in the Washington Research Library Consortium provide a wealth of resources, all of which are available to students and faculty of UDC, but the Washington, D.C. area is also home to many other libraries and archives with important collections that may be valuable for research. These institutions are not members of WRLC, so UDC students and faculty do not automatically have borrowing privileges. Please contact the individual libraries regarding their policies.
There are two dozen branches around the city and all UDC students and faculty are entitled to a card, which also provides access to their electronic resources.
Also includes the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center.
The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world and is the oldest cultural institution in the United States. Anyone age 16 and over with a valid driver’s license, state-issued ID card, or passport may obtain a reader identification card. All material must be used on site. There are also many valuable digital collections.
