Assistant/Associate Faculty, Center for Academic Technology
The Learning Resources Division of the University of the District of Columbia is seeking a dynamic, patron-centered individual with collaboration skills and experiences to support the online learning initiatives of the Center for Academic Technology by training patrons on the use of our course management system and by developing applications to enhance teaching and learning.
- Position: Non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor (contract position)
- Salary Range: Rank and Salary Commensurate with Qualifications
- Location: Van Ness Campus, Washington, DC

Brief Description of Duties
The incumbent will be responsible for leading and instructing faculty in the use of Blackboard as a course management system, collaborating with faculty across the campus in online course design and implementation, instructing faculty enrolled in professional development workshops, and leading groups of students in the use of Blackboard and information literacy. The incumbent will support the use of Blackboard and other instructional applications, collaborate in grant proposals, attend meetings, write reports, engage in research, and coordinate with permanent faculty in the development of teaching materials and modules for online/hybrid and blended instruction.
Qualifications Required
Ph.D., Ed.D., or ABD from an accredited institution of higher education with a concentration in instructional design, online learning, or related field. Candidate should have five or more years of teaching experience, some in the online environment. Experience and familiarity with Quality Matters assessment is desired. Candidate should be experienced using Blackboard, soft Chalk, Web 2.0 tools, and other relevant applications.

Instructional Technology Assistant, Center for Academic Technology
The Learning Resources Division of the University of the District of Columbia is seeking a dynamic, patron-centered individual with collaboration skills and experiences to support the Center for Academic Technology. The incumbent functions as an instructional technology assistant performing helpdesk support to faculty, staff, and students.
- Position: Instructional Technology Assistant
- Salary Range: Rank and Salary Commensurate with Qualifications
- Location: Van Ness Campus, Washington, DC
- Availability: Immediately and open until filled
Brief Description of Duties
- Assists with help desk support for computers and peripheral applications specific to higher education teaching and learning to include: Blackboard 9.1, Soft Chalk, Wimba, Mobile Learning, Respondus, SafeAssign, Acxiom, email, and Smarthinking.
- Assists with trouble shooting course management system failures and assists faculty in uploading course documents and course content.
- Supports the department focus and implementation of faculty professional development by creating fliers, marketing workshops, maintaining databases of participants, collating rosters of attendees, assessing impact, writing reports, and coordinating logistics.
- Develops self-help guides, tutorials, and FAQ fliers.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- BA/BS degree with concentration in computer science, educational technology, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in computer operations, help-desk support, or troubleshooting system performance.
Required Competencies
- BA/BS degree with concentrations in computer science, educational technology, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in computer operations, help-desk support.
- Working knowledge of computer operations and applications related to teaching and learning.
- Experience with Blackboard CMS.
- Ability to interact constructively and tactfully with faculty, students, institutional staff, and co-workers.
- Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
